Boxford Marks Spirit of America Event, Opens Budget for Review
Boxford residents have a full slate of civic and family gatherings this week, led by a Spirit of America event Wednesday evening and continued sign-ups for the library's summer reading program.
TOWN HALL
The town's community calendar highlights "The Spirit of America in Boxford," scheduled for Wednesday, July 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Stiles Pond Beach, according to the town's website. Residents interested in serving as election workers are encouraged to reach out to R. Phelan at the town via email, per the town homepage. The town also flagged that its fiscal year 2027 proposed budget and capital plan are now available for public review, and that the transition of dispatch services to the North Shore Regional 911 center continues to be a topic of town updates.
Two public meetings are on the near-term calendar: the Conservation Commission meets Thursday, July 9, and the Select Board meets Monday, July 13, both according to the town's official meeting calendar.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Boxford Public Library is inviting residents of all ages to sign up for its summer reading program, telling patrons on its website that "it is time to sign up for summer reading! And yes, that includes adults too!" The library also reminded cardholders that streaming services Kanopy and Hoopla Digital remain available free with a library card, and that the Libby app offers free digital books and audiobooks to Boxford Town Library patrons; residents needing help with setup can call the library directly.
Looking ahead, the town's community calendar lists a "Touch a Truck" event on Saturday, July 25, and a Concert on the Lawn at the Holyoke-French House on Saturday, July 25 at 3:30 p.m.
